Assessing, Improving and Implementing all Aspects of Supply Chain Logistics
In organisations where consolidation, outsourcing and efficiency improvement drives are the norm, there is a real risk that the goal of "increasing profit" results in a lack of focus on the basics, and an erosion of core processes and principles.
This leads to a vicious cycle where the leaders gravitate towards firefighting, as opposed to proactive planning and effective management of the people and processes.
As a consequence, the firefighting leads to very poor quality problem solving, less focus on managing performance, and virtually no time left over to act as effective leaders for their people.
Although the level of complexity involved in analysing these issues can be high, commonly the root cause lies between organisation, governance & planning...none of which are particularly complex.
The name "Inside the Box" came from an understanding that the key to resolving any business issue lies within the people who are already inside the organisation. This "untapped potential" is easily brought out, and through coaching and governance, proves to be a fun way to get all staff motivated and fully engaged in improving the business.

Areas of Expertise
Business Performance Improvement
Many organisations operate in an environment where leaders do far more within the "processes" than they do leading their people (typically 15% value add mgt). This inevitably leads to the creation of a downward spiral where investigations into performance drops mean less focus on overall management, which lead to further performance drops.
Inside the Box uses an extensive toolbox, proven effective over many years, to make business assessments. These tools are used to identify, and resolve these issues. Our assessments can be very focused; e.g. on one process within an operation, or can cover an entire business from the workers to the executive leadership level.
Project Management
Every organisation wants to be considered effective in the "art" of project management. The issue can lie in which methodology to adopt, how to train your people and how to prevent every project turning into a bureaucratic, troublesomeand lengthy process.
Inside the Box have created many bespoke project management methodologies for businesses where trained project resources are limited, and focus on moving fast is the difference between winning business or losing it.
New process / product introduction
In recent years the supply chain sector has been very focused on globalisation, which is typically achieved through acquisition and consolidation. Normally this is coupled with a parallel drive to grow organically.
Inside the Box have experience in supporting businesses cope with this growth by working with both sales and operations teams to ensure "wins" are matched by capability (ability to perform to start up expectations).
Pre-acquisition Planning
There are many articles on acquisition integration (PMI) challenges, along with opinions on why they have failed to deliver as expected. These range from not fully realising the synergies which can be achieved in advance, to not planning the Post Merger Integration effectively.
Inside the Box can support the pre acquisition planning phase through the use of a bespoke project management toolkit which starts with post acquisition goals and plans on how and when these will be delivered, and most importantly by whom.
Process design / Re-Design
Sometimes organisations require the design of a new process when entering a new, or unfamiliar sector. Alternatively support may be required when a current process requires significant change; e.g. R&D type analysis into new emerging technologies that need to be integrated into the existing processes.
Inside the Box has global experience in adapting to new technologies, and offers support on how to plan to be market leaders, ahead of competitors.
Post Acquisition integration (PMI)
Post acquisition integration challenges range from planned goals not being achievable / fully realised in the expected timescales, to a lack of understanding of the impact cultural differences can make on performance and morale.
Inside the Box have global experience in supporting acquisition integrations, and in planning for the challenges which are sure to arise. Typically this involves nothing more than all party engagement, planning and rigorous governance of the "PMI Project".
